Poverty and beautiful 13 Siem Reap Cambodia-impressions
March 19, late arrival in Siem Reap, 26 morning departure to Phnom Penh. In Siem Reap, we spent a total of 6 days, 7 nights. Siem Reap is small (little to no public transport, local people are walking or riding a motorcycle), but because of the Angkor monuments, it became the most prosperous cities in Cambodia, even more than the capital Phnom Penh. Every night, Siem Reap Street crowded with tourists, the lively bar street full of bustling crowd. And the domestic many smaller cities, apart from the main street of visitors, locals living place is still very poor, but this does not prevent the beauty of Siem Reap. Siem Reap's consumption levels than we can imagine before, in a restaurant, a dish to 3 ~ 5 dollars, Guide 25 USD/day, tuk-tuk15 USD/day. But these are tailored to the visitor spending item, if it is a local restaurant to cheap, just health prohibitive, really do not have the courage to try. Local store price compared with domestic is not high, one embroidered with silk tablets t-shirt only $ 8 (I bought a beautiful embroidered with the baby elephant t-shirt), or in boutiques in the price. We at the side of a shoe shop to see a lot of very nice and very cheap sandals, just want to want to go far back to Beijing, or abandoned. Specially recommends a France opened Angkor Art Center Angkor Artist, there's a lot of good quality, very distinctive tourist souvenirs, the price is fair. Cambodia has many special shops, which are specifically designed for persons with disabilities, women or children, the purpose of raising funds. It is sold in these guys handmade crafts. Because it is a charity, so there's no discount, even if the goods are offered for the local people love it.
